My Approach
Firstly, I want to welcome you. I believe that by simply being here you are taking the first—and often most difficult—step toward healing by seeking support.
This is a meaningful and courageous decision, and I encourage you to take a moment to reflect and recognize the strength it takes to begin this process.
I believe that each person carries an inner wisdom that can guide them toward their own healing, whatever path or process that journey may take. You, and only you, are the expert in your own life and experiences…what can aid in your therapeutic progress is having someone to walk alongside us and provide the right support to help access and build upon that knowledge. Clients often describe my approach as supportive and informative, grounded in curiosity, respect, and genuine compassion.
In practice, my primary goal is to create a space that feels safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate, where we can explore your experiences at your pace. I strive to establish a collaborative process, meaning I welcome your questions, your input, and your goals. I want to know what you feel works for you, and what doesn’t. Throughout our work, I also like to provide psychoeducation and insight to help you understand your emotions and why you may be reacting a certain way in activating situations. I believe this goes a long way into normalizing and validating one’s experiences.
Subsequently, depending on the client’s needs, preferences, and challenges faced, I integrate traditional talk therapy with bottom-up, body-oriented methods, recognizing that some challenges—particularly those stemming from trauma—are not solely held in our conscious mind.
Instead, they can be held within our “felt sense”; the physical and emotional imprint of our most difficult experiences. In these cases, purely verbal exploration may not fully address what the body continues to carry. While it may lead to cognitive understanding of what happened and why, it may also leave you with feelings of “I understand, but I still feel ______”. Incorporating body-based therapies can lead to awareness and support deeper healing.
Together, we can explore what feels most helpful for you and find a path toward healing that feels
supportive, empowering, and meaningful.
I offer sessions in French and in English. I offer virtual, in-person from my home office, or “walk and talk” sessions.
