What modalities (types of therapy) do you use?
1.
I like to employ a collaborative process that is person-centered (prioritizes the individual client’s needs, values, and preferences, treating them as equal partners in their own care), emotion-focused (informed by an understanding of the role of emotion in psychotherapeutic change), I utilize an eclectic breadth of evidence-based therapeutic modalities including:
- Psychodynamic Theory,
- Somatic Experiencing (B-II),
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Elements of Gestalt Therapy,
- Elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),
- Elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),
- Elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
What clients do you see?
2.
I see individual clients, ages 18 and up. If you are searching for family, couples, or child/teen therapy I can offer trusted referrals in the area.
What services do you offer?
3.
I offer virtual or in-person sessions from my home office, that is completely separate from the rest of my house.
I also offer “walk and talk” sessions, where therapy is conducted as we walk side-by-side down country roads.
What do you charge?

Do you bill directly to insurance companies?
5.
The intake session is 75 minutes long and costs $220.
Any following sessions are 60 minutes long and cost $175.
Sliding scale sessions are available for individuals of low income and are charged at 50% of my regular fee: $87.50 per 60-minute session. Please inquire if a sliding scale spot is available and if you qualify.
Unfortunately, I do not bill directly to insurance companies at this time.
How do I schedule, cancel or reschedule an appointment?
If this is your first session, I recommend scheduling a consultation call so that we can discuss what you would like to address in therapy. In the same call, you may ask any questions you might have, and we can schedule your first session. If you prefer to simply jump right in and schedule your first session, please use the “Book Session Now” button and select a time that is most convenient.
Once you have scheduled your session, you will have access to your client account on the Jane platform and will be able to cancel or reschedule a session on your end.
What is your cancellation policy?
I understand that we all have busy lives and that unforeseeable circumstances do arise from time to time. However, in order to keep my schedule accurate and available for all my clients, I do request that you follow the following cancellation policy.
You will receive a reminder email 48 hours prior to your session. If you cancel or reschedule your session before 24 hours before your session, no cancellation fee will be charged. If you cancel or reschedule your session within 24 hours, a cancellation fee of 50% of the full session fee will be charged. If you do not show up for your appointment, the full session fee will be charged.
What can I expect from therapy?
How long does it take to see changes/progress?
In a therapeutic setting, we begin by building the therapeutic relationship so that you feel comfortable, safe, and begin to trust me with your experiences. We will conduct the intake session, during which I ask you questions about all areas of your life to identify possible areas of stress or struggle; however, you have the right to “pass” on any question and not answer until you feel comfortable to share any aspect of your life.
Together we will set goals for our therapeutic work together and gradually begin to explore deeper.
I will explain psychotherapeutic concepts to help you understand your emotions and experiences. It is important to know, that therapy can be emotionally challenging before things get better, but please know that I will be with you along the way and help you manage these emotions as they arise. Together, we will discuss your challenges and work toward healing and/or making sustainable changes in your life. All the while addressing new challenges or even change our focus toward new therapeutic goals as needed.
This is a difficult question to answer as it is different for every client. We will discuss your goals and will work toward that goal, together. You may begin to feel different as of the first session, as often, simply discussing your challenges with someone can feel like a weight off your shoulders. Longer lasting change can be felt progressively as we work together, however, active participation plays a big part in a client’s therapeutic change.
