About Me
Andree Leduc
B.Crim, B.Psych, MACP, Registered Psychotherapist
My journey to becoming a psychotherapist began with a love for supporting and helping
others—whether friends, family members, or people I encountered in everyday life.
Following completion of my undergraduate degree at the University of Ottawa, I began my professional career as a police officer with the Ottawa Police Service where I served for 16 years. Policing was a challenging, meaningful, and rewarding career; however, I found myself wanting to offer a deeper level of support and ongoing care than the role often allowed.
After leaving the Ottawa Police Service, I pursued a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and for the past four years have worked as a Registered Psychotherapist in the Kemptville area where I am able to provide the kind of sustained, supportive aid to clients that was missing in my work as a police officer.
My years in policing provided me with valuable insights and a wide range of experiences—both
challenging and deeply meaningful—that continue to inform my work as a therapist. This background has given me a unique understanding of the culture, demands, and complexities of first responder professions as well as other demanding careers.
As a result, I have developed a strong passion for supporting individuals who serve in these roles, including first responders/dispatchers, members of the Canadian Armed Forces, medical personnel, etc. I also welcome clients from every and all backgrounds facing a variety of challenges.
